Turnbuckles and Pitot tubes, a recurring phenomena.

Tubing is required on pretty much any scale model project actually. Masts for ships, pipes for engines, turnbuckles, gun barrels, scaffolding for diorama, axles, you name it. There always is a place where something can be improved or accentuated.

But not for visual effects only it is great to have a tubing handy. Older kits or resin kits often need reinforcements and connector pins. Tubing is great for this because its very versatile in application. One can make an axle or a pitot tube with one and the same product.

Go beyond borders: The Connecto-concept

This is a quite ingenious concept actually. Without this product it has been very, very difficult to connect tubes (not to mention at angles) without running a soldering campaign of biblical proportion. I´m not that much a soldering guy and I do admire the skillz that others have but for my cup of tea, this is the perfect product. Within minutes we now can create new structures which were close to impossible without using a soldering iron.

If you are involved in the dark arts of soldering you can of course you can combine both methods, but for static scale modeling you actually just need lil bit of CA.

As for diameters, I have decided to stock the ones I would use the most. You always have a little bit of leeway in terms of the diameter of the tube.
You can use a C-05 which has been designed for 0.3mm i.d. tubing on a tube with 0.4mm i.d. + without problems, so we hereby carry the connectos for most of the tubes we have.

What we have selected fits 48th scale and 32nd (35th) scale airfield accessories and diorama accessories. I see large potential especially in scaffolding as part of maintenance scenes as can be seen on the bottom of this page.

In addition it makes sense to have a few lengths of a brass rod handy. These can be used for additional diagonal struts while contructing scaffolding. You gott hem right here. Working with it can be more fun when you anneal it with an open flame. It then softens and is more easy to work with.

You can also use it for rendering pipes and tubes or electrical wiring on engines.
