RUHRSTAHL was the manufacturer of the Ruhrstahl X-4 and Fritz X, both designed by Max Kramer. X-4 was wire guided and Fritz X was actually radio controlled. It´s an insane amount of innovation
which driven by this Kramer guy. I guess he used a lotta coffee. Which brings us back to the topic:

Well, I dont know what to tell you. If you dont know the Wespengeschwader ZG1, then this is not your mug. For all the enlightened out there: It´s a double sided print. Meaning that there is two artworks, one pointing towards you and one pointing towards the folks in the office, so they can come by and ask you where this awesome mug is coming from.....

Tanker´s chocolate mug. Most likely merely a slang term for Pervitin pills. (Meth). at the time. A contemporary design version appeared on social media a while ago. Reason enough to roll this one out.

The famous JG53 had a nightfighter wing, namely the 10th group. So that would be 10.(NJ)/JG53. I didnt manage to find an image of the real deal. However, in Osprey´s Aviation Elite Units 25, the badge is shown on the very rear side of the book. I like the owl (who´s known for it´s nightly activities) in combination with JG53 and coffee. So... if you like that as well...here is your mug. :-)))

The 2nd Submarine Flotilla (2. Ubootsflottille / 2.U-Flottille) scrambled 1936 in Kiel but soon got deployed in Lorient. The unit carried a lot of the task load being asigned to submarines with direct access to the Atlantic. After Lorient had to be given up, the remainder of the units transferred to Norway. I have yet to find out what the crest is actually standing for, but it surely has a unique German accent to it, reflecting the understanding of esthetics at that period.

The 6th submarine flotilla has ben formed in Danzig in 1941 as a training flotilla. Short after it got deployed to St.Nazaire for the battle of the Atlantic. I picked this ensign purely because of it´s esthetics. As quite a few other flotiallas, it is referring to the Vikings and (indirectly) the Northern Mythology. Vikings were considered being a role model in the story-telling of the Kriegsmarine. They stood for toughness, seamanship, courage and determination which were some of the top ranking ideals in the DKM.

Garuda was a manfuacturer for propellers being located in Berlin. The company acted as an important supplier for the early German Luftwaffe. The Term "Garuda" is deriving from a mythical
bird-like devine creature, which can be find in hinduism:
“The bird is invoked as 'snake-slayer' or 'naga-slayer' (nagantaka) or 'snake-eater' (nagasana). It´s proper name is Garuda, from the word-root "gri", "to gulp down." As the ruthless slayer of
serpents, he is exalted over the effects of the poison with mystical power.”
So... airborne and with super powers, eating the evil snakes.
Garuda (Thai: ครุฑ, krut) is the personal emblem of the Thai king, commonly believed to be the incarnation of Vishnu. What a BS artist, huh?

AXIAL was manufacturer for propellers and a key supplier for the early German Luftwaffe. The company was located in Berlin Warschauer Strasse 58, today a residential area. AXIAL can be interpreted as a reference for being well balanced. Very cool logo if you ask me, hence we included it into the line.

The commemorative badge for the crews of German combat vehicles, or combat vehicle commemorative badge for short, is one of the rarest German military badges of the First World War. Since, according to the Weimar Constitution, the new creation of medals and decorations was prohibited, it did not have the status of a medal or decoration, but was considered a commemorative badge. Similar to the submarine badge, it is a combat badge. It was awarded exclusively to former crews of combat vehicles who had participated in at least three front-line operations, had been wounded or captured during an operation, or had performed a special act of bravery.

Yeah, ya better keep it classy my friend. The old manufacturer logos really had class. Influenced by contemporary arts and style, these logos certainly appear to be from a different world. In fact this is what they are: coming from a pre-internet era, all hand crafted using a sketch pad and a lead pen or maybe some charcoal. These logos stand for themselves. Unfairly they yellowed in some forgotten drawers for a long time. You can change that.

Jagdgeschwader 51 (JG 51) was a German fighter wing during World War II. JG 51's pilots won more awards than any other fighter wing of the Luftwaffe, and operated in all major theatres of war. It`s members included Anton Hafner, Heinz Bär and Karl-Gottfried Nordmann for example, with Werner Mölders being it´s wing commander from July 1940 to July 1941. There is even one survivor aircraft of this wing being on display today, in the form of a 109E-4B "Black 12" with the RAF Museum, Hendon, London, UK.
